Officials at the Buttonwood Park Zoo are providing round-the-clock monitoring of "Ruth," the elephant after she escaped from her heated barn during the early morning hours of Friday's snowstorm. Zoo Director Keith Lovett tells WBSM news the 55-year old elephant is doing well. According to Lovett, two zookeepers were to blame after failing to padlock the elephant's barn door and allowing her to enter the exhibit area and the freezing weather. Lovett says the issue of any disciplinary actions against the keepers will be taken up by the city's personnel director.
