Route 195 Construction in Fairhaven To Begin Saturday

A road project that might normally take a year is going to be done in 4 weeks. The State Department of Transportation is re constructing the River Avenue Bridge on Rt. 195 in Fairhaven while traffic is detoured around it.

Spokesperson Sara Lavoie says the construction project uses "slide in" sections over the bridge and is put together like legos. She adds this is the first time this accelerated bridge construction technique has been used on an interstate in Southeastern Massachusetts.
