A construction worker was injured Wednesday when he was struck by a state police cruiser that had been rear-ended by a motorist. According to state police the incident happened at Route 140 south at exit 10 at about 11:30 a.m. Trooper Richard Demoranville was stationed at a construction detail when he was hit by Benjamin Black of Brockton which caused Demoranville's cruiser to hit construction worker Michael Pavao, who was working for Delucca Fence.

Pavao was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with leg injuries, including a possible fracture. Black was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton with minor neck injuries, and Demoranville was also taken to Morton with minor injuries. No charges had been filed in the incident as the investigation continues.
