Rogers School Bell Removal Postponed

The removal of the bell from the former Rogers School in Fairhaven was postponed Saturday and rescheduled for August 13.

According to South Coast Today.com, the contractor who is removing the bell free of charge, A1 Crane Co., was tied up with another job after rain on Friday and had to cancel.  The rain shut down that job on Friday and forced A1 to stay and finish it on Saturday.

As a result, the bell removal at the former Rogers School was rescheduled to 10am August 13.

The plan is to put the bell in storage at the Fairhaven Department of Public Works facility and then return it to the former school once the cradle is repaired.
