The national Arbor Day Foundation recently named Rochester as a “Tree City” for its town forestry efforts this year.

According to South Coast Today.com, “the residents of Rochester should be proud to live in a community that makes the planting and care of trees a priority.” The Tree City USA foundation is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Tree City USA program, which encourages smart urban forest management.

Later this spring, a town event will be held in which the town of Rochester will be presented with Tree City USA signs to place along the road, as well as a Tree City USA flag.
