An early morning robbery in the North End nets a robber plenty of cigarettes, but no cash.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that around 3 a.m. a man armed with a gun entered the the Sam's Mobile on Ashley Blvd.

The 23-year-old male clerk ran to back room and locked himself in. He was unharmed.

The suspect then tried several times to get into the cash register but couldn't gain access.

He then grabbed several packs of cigarettes and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and a medium build. He was dressed in black and wore a black ski mask.
