There I was, Thirsty Thursday, two passengers in the van, meter running, as we're stopped at the octopus light.

In front of me is a green Honda. Our traffic light turns green, and the Honda is not moving. I flash the high beams. No response. A second flash. Honda no move. I honk the horn. My passengers get testy at the Honda's driver. Finally, the driver sticks his head out the window. I recognize the face. He's a former cab driver. He volleys a series of swears and racial slurs. And, still does not move the Honda.

I call out to him, I've got passengers in here. The meters running. The Honda slowly meanders forward, then the driver jerks hard on the brakes. He did this several times before, my female passenger opens up the slider door and give the Honda driver a few words of wisdom.

Finally I get the chance to turn left on Maxfield. The Honda driver responds by accelerating to follow. I stop at the Maxfield-Pleasant stop sign, and Honda driver veers right and intentionally cracks into my van. Deliberate as it gets!

The driver then gets out and walks over to my vehicle. I say to him--what are you doing?? He tells me to open up the back door--so as to get at the female passenger. Unfortunately, the lock is broken, and he opens to door on his own. The two exchange barbs. The Honda driver wants to yank my female passenger out of the van, but notices there's a man sitting next to her--with anxious intent.

The Honda driver realizes I'm calling for NBPD help, gets into his Honda and speeds up Maxfield toward County Street. Yep, I got the plate number Massachusetts 3ZL 825. Three witnesses give up the info to a very helpful NBPD officer. I hope they get the driver, before someone else does.

My question to you is, does this qualify as road rage?
