Two cousins from Rhode Island have pleaded guilty for their roles in the drug-related slaying four years ago of an Attleboro man.

Jose Polanco was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty in Fall River Superior Court to charges including second-degree murder and home invasion in the June 2010 death of Dylan Adams.

The Sun Chronicle reports that his cousin, Craig Fleetwood, received 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to charges including manslaughter.

Prosecutors say the men from Providence, Rhode island, forced their way into Adams' apartment to steal 30 pounds of marijuana they had been told was stashed there.

Adams was shot to death while his girlfriend was bound, beaten and bitten.

The defendants were tied to the scene through DNA evidence.

They apologized in court.
