The four members of Rhode Island's congressional delegation may forgo their salaries during the government shutdown if federal employees lose money.

Spokespersons for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressmen Jim Langevin and David Cicilline, say they will donate their salaries to charities if federal employees are not paid retroactively when the shutdown ends.

A spokesman for Senator Jack Reed says he too will forgo his salary, but didn't say what would be done with the money.
