Reward Offered in Acushnet Dog Abuse Case

Acushnet Police

$1,000 in reward money is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the death of a four-year-old pitbull, and then dumping the body near a river.

Acushnet Police say the only lead they have is that a young white male dumped the dog near the Acushnet River on Slocum Street Thursday, then headed toward Brooklawn Park in New Bedford.

Coalition for Animals of Greater New Bedford member and New Bedford Animal Control Officer Manny Maciel can’t wrap his head around it.
