A former supervisor in charge of Boston's FBI office is facing charges after his testimony at a mobster's trial.

Robert Fitzpatrick is being charged with six counts of perjury and six counts of obstruction of justice.

The indictment charges Fitzpatrick falsely held himself out as a whistleblower who tried to end the FBI's relationship with James "Whitey" Bulger.

Fitzpatrick surrendered to U.S. marshals Thursday after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
