Holiday shoppers in Massachusetts can have confidence that the checkout scanners at their local stores are working properly. The Division of Standards released the results of its annual survey of retail scanners Wednesday, finding a 99.8 percent accuracy rate. Officials from the agency checked 98 stores representing 50 retailers across the state, from clothing to electronic stores. Last year's survey found an accuracy rate of nearly 99.6 percent.
