The Fairhaven Fire Department is asking the public to clear any fire hydrants that may be covered with snow as a result of the Blizzard of 2015.

Firefighter Wayne Oliveira says crews are out clearing as many as they can but with roughly 300 in town that will take time and he says having access to every hydrant is essential.

Those who see blocked hydrants but can't shovel are asked to call the Fairhaven Fire Department at 508-994-1428.

Oliveira also reminds residents that it is against the law to pile snow on top of any fire hydrants.
