A Fairhaven home is damaged by fire.

Firefighter Wayne Oliveira says the fire was reported just after 10pm Wednesday night at 44 Bridge Street. Two engines and a ladder truck were dispatched to the home, with firefighters finding smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the two-family home. The blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes, but not before it caused $20,000 in damage to the attic, the second floor, and the home's exterior.

One resident was transported to St. Luke's after being overcome by smoke, along with one firefighter who was hospitalized for exhaustion.

Two people have been displaced from the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
