Kearse broke the news via his instagram account, as he tweeted a picture of the Patriot logo with the caption "New Beginnings #Notarize."

Kearse entered the NFL in 2011 as a seventh round pick of the Miami Dolphins and has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys and Redskins over his career. In 35 games the defensive end has made 29 tackles and has been credited with 5.5 sacks.

It appears that the addition of Kearse could be a move made with the mindset of replacing free agent Akiem Hicks, who is reportedly meeting with the Chicago Bears this week.
