FALL RIVER - The body of a man who jumped off of the Braga Bridge Thursday afternoon has been recovered.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office tells WBSM News the body washed up Monday morning on the north side of the Braga Bridge.

Officials will make an announcement on the latest developments Monday afternoon.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The unidentified man jumped from the Braga Bridge after abandoning his car on I-195 Thursday afternoon, initiating an hours-long search that was called off Friday.

The matter is under investigation by Fall River Police Detectives and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

WBSM News will not be releasing the identity of the suicide victim.
