New Bedford Police are looking to file charges against two men that allegedly attacked another man Thursday afternoon.

The 21-year-old victim told police hew was walking in the area of Blackmer and County streets around 2:15 P.M. Thursday when he was approached by six to seven men. The group began attacking and beating the victim, who ran into a nearby backyard.

One of the men broke the victim's phone so he couldn't call for help. The men stole the victim's gold bracelet and gold necklace before driving off in a four-door black sedan.

Police say the victim was able to identify two of the assailants: 22-year-old Ailton Pina and 21-year-old Ismael Gomes, both of Nash Road. Police have obtained warrants for the men.

Pina will be charged with assault and battery, unarmed robbery, larceny over $250, and witness intimidation. Gomes will face one charge of assault and battery.

Anyone with information on their wherabouts is asked to call New Bedford Police.
