NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are citing a man they say was under the influence of drugs while in the driver's seat of his car near the city's South End on Wednesday.

Police responded to Hemlock and Dunbar Streets just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man passed out in a car.

Responding officers determined that the man was under the influence of drugs. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for evaluation.

The man, who police did not identify, will be cited for operating under the influence of drugs and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for operating under the influence.
