Rep. Chris Markey of Dartmouth says the Legislature will be digging into the day-to-day operations of the State Department of Children and Families. 

The Investigation  following a series of high-profile cases, including a five year old Fitchburg boy whose disappearance went unnoticed by social workers for months. 

Rep. Markey says he's pleased the Governor in his proposed budget increased D-C-F funding by $32 million, but its likely state lawmakers won't stop there.....

Markey said he hopes the embattled agency will use the additional funding to raise salaries and hire more qualified people. 

Markey said state lawmakers want the agency to opperate more efficiently, and more effectively.
