Rep. Joseph Kennedy III says he's working to maintain access to affordable health insurance for the nation's neediest residents.

Speaking Friday at a roundtable discussion at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Congressman Kennedy says while the Affordable Care Act is not perfect, it is a necessity for many people who need it to stay healthy.

Kennedy says if the ACA is repealed, it would have huge consequences for a city like Fall River. He also told the Herald News, he has no idea about what Republicans are planning for a replacement plan.
