The trial of a Fairhaven woman found guilty in a deadly 2011 hit and run is finally over.

Renee Andrews stood before Fall River Superior Court Judge Renee Dupuis and received 2 1/2 years at the Bristol County House of Corrections for leaving the scene of personal injury and/or death.

Katelyn Brienzo was killed in the accident and her boyfriend Ellery Reynolds was seriously injured. He says he'd like to see Andrews serve a longer sentence...

Andrews will only serve one year until she is up for parole. Once she is released, she faces five years of probation and is required to carry out 300 hours of community service. Her licence will also be suspended for the next 15 years.

Family and friends of Brienzo presented impact statements to the court prior to sentencing. They spoke about their memories of Katie and her accomplishments in the community.
