Rehoboth Officer Injured in Foot Chase

A Rehoboth police officer is recovering from injuries sustained during an early morning chase Wednesday.

Several sources say the chase began before 4am on Perryville Road in the town.

Police say the suspect flipped his car during the chase and then took off on foot, with at least one officer in pursuit.

While running after the suspect, the police officer suffered injuries to the head. The officer was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.

The unidentified suspect was arrested.
