Yesterday, I posted a blog about legalizing marijuana for recreational use for those who are over the age of 21. Are young people abusing alcohol and marijuana? Last night, a 22 year-old man from Rehoboth was arrested after he drove his car off the road and failed a sobriety test.

According to WJAR 10, “police were dispatched to Miller Street in Rehoboth around 11:30pm after receiving reports of a car off the road.”

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Paul Lakota, failed to make a turn on the road and drove through a wooden fence and into a muddy pasture.

Officers arrived on scene and observed signs of intoxication and smelled the odor of liquor. Lakota was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.

He is expected to be arraigned in court today.
