Saturday, November 17 is National Family Volunteer Day. United Way of Greater New Bedford strongly encourages families to come together to give back to the community at the Hunger Heroes event that day. The Hunger Heroes Project is on a mission to fill 1,000 Thanksgiving meals for families in need in Greater New Bedford. Volunteers will be needed for a variety of positions at GNB Voc Tech from 8:30 am to 6 pm.

You can register the entire team together to make check-in easier. Select the shift you want and click the “Respond as Team” Button. Enter a team name, the number of people on your team, your t-shirt size, and consent to the media release which can be viewed HERE. On the next page, enter the names of everyone on your team, their t-shirt size, and age.

This is the perfect opportunity for any age to help out! With every Thanksgiving package, we will be including cards made by us! Kids that may not be old enough to help with the food sorting or packaging can help with this! Get the creative juices flowing and get creating!

Each two-hour shift offers a chance to really connect with your family and a great way to give back to the community as well. Sign up HERE.

If you cannot volunteer on November 17, you can still help by donating select Thanksgiving items to Operation: Food Drop on Saturday, November 10 from 10 am to 2 pm.
