Mass Gaming and Entertainment's bid to secure a Region C Gaming license and build a casino in Brockton continues to move forward.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission heard from their Ombudsman John Ziemba on Thursday who told commissioners they had received surrounding community petitions and it seems likely that final agreements could be reached very soon.

Although the Commission says they plan to award a Region C License by March 31, Ziemba says that if there is no opposition to the plan from the surrounding communities, then the process could be sped up dramatically.

"In such instance a decision could be made much earlier than the projected date," said Ziemba.

Representatives from Mass Gaming and Entertainment are scheduled to address the Commission November 5.
