The Boston Red Sox returned to Fenway Park for the first time since the Boston Marathon bombings. They returned to a packed house, and an emotional crowd.

The Red Sox took the field in a game that was very important to Red Sox Nation. They did the fans proud against Kansas City, with a 4-3 win.

The Game began with David Ortiz addressing the crowd, as he was returning to play for the first time since injuring himself last season. He was 2 for 4 on the day, with an RBI. Daniel Nava was the hero of the day, with a 3-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Red Sox the lead, and the win.

Clay Bucholz went eight innings, struck out six and improves to 4-0 on the season. To add more emotion to the game, Neil Diamond led the crowd in a rendition of 'Sweet Caroline'.
