Moncada, who took home MVP honors in this year's minor league All-Star game, has put up solid numbers for two Boston affiliates so far this season.

In 61 games with class A Advanced Salem, the Cuban infielder slashed .307/.427/.496 with with four homers and 34 RBI. Since getting called up to AA Portland, Moncada has continued to produce with a slash line of .285/.388/.547 11 homers and 27 more RBI in 44 games.

Moncada is expected to join the team Friday, as they head to Oakland to play the struggling A's.

Though he has primarily played second base in the minors, the belief is that Moncada will spend most of his time at third for Boston.
