News of Boston's plan to formally announce Martinez on Monday, was first broken by
Barstool Sports' Jared Carrabis.  After spotting some issues in his physical, the Sox aimed to change some language in the contract offer they had agreed upon with the 30-year-old slugger.  Though the issues have not been specified, all reports indicate that they are not ones that cause any real concern about Martinez' ability to play this season.  It appears that the two sides have agreed to adjust the language in the contract to suit Boston's concerns.
According to MLB.com's Red Sox beat reporter Ian Browne, a press conference to welcome Martinez to the team should happen early on Monday morning.
