The Red Sox are trying to pick up the pieces before it gets too late to make a big push, however this latest move has many scratching their heads.

Danny Valencia hasn't had the best season with the Minnesota Twins, thus far. Over the last three season he's hitting .260 in 273 major league games. The Red Sox give up outfielder Jeremias Pineda in order to get Valencia.

Pineda was hitting .421 so far this season with Boston. It makes you wonder what value they will get out of Valencia, who has already been optioned to Pawtucket. Valencia will help out their infield, once they need him. Right now the Sox have eight players on the 15 day disabled list, so they could use all the help they can get.
