About 400,000 HoMedics handheld massagers have been recalled after more than a dozen injuries have been reported.

According to WPRI 12, the electric cord can break near the base of the massager, and the exposed wires can also pose an electric shock and burn hazard.

HoMedics has received 140 incident reports so far for exposed wires, sparks, smoking, and flames coming from the massagers. 15 people also were burned by the massager.

This recall involves three models, which are "HHP-375H," "HHP-250," and "PA-MH-THP."

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled massagers. HoMedics will give consumers a credit to replace the product."

HoMedics can be reached online or toll-free at 888-803-0509, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
