Ward 4 City Councilor Dana Rebeiro's absence from Thursday night's meeting drew a sharp response from her fellow councilors.

At-Large Councilor Linda Morad repeatedly insisted that almost all items on the agenda receive a full roll-call vote, highlighting Rebeiro's absence every time her name was called.

Councilors also voted to remove three routine street closing items proposed by Rebeiro from the agenda.

Rebeiro, during a budget hearing last week, lambasted her fellow councilors for not attending bi-weekly meetings with the mayor's office, something that drew fire from councilors who work full-time jobs during the day. Rebeiro missed Thursday's regular meeting due to a "work commitment," and Morad tells WBSM news that she was pointing out the contradiction in the Ward 4 councilor's words and actions.

Rebeiro is a freshman councilor and took office in January.
