Even with the possibility of a casino just one city over, Raynham residents and neighbors are very supportive of welcoming a slots parlor to the town.

Raynham Park developers pleaded their case before the Mass. Gaming Commission and the town Thursday night, in hopes of obtaining the sole slots parlor license being commissioned by the state.

Taunton Mayor Thomas Hoye supports the proposal, even with the prospect of an indian casino in his city.

Raynham Park seeks to build a $220 million slots parlor, with millions in mitigation and tax revenue going to the town each year.

The gaming commission is expected to award the sole slots parlor license to one of three applicants by the end of the year.
