Raid In New Bedford Leads To Seizure Of Drugs, Money
A New Bedford man is facing drug charges following his arrest Wednesday night.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that at around 6:15 p.m. members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 340 Austin St. Apt. #2.
The search warrant was executed following an investigation into a drug delivery service that police believe was being operated out of the home.
Vicente says the target of the investigation, identified as 34-year-old Jason Oliveira, was taken into custody shortly after leaving his apartment.
During the search, Vicente says officers recovered 115 grams of heroin, 1 gram of cocaine, cutting agents, $519, and digital scales.
The drugs were reported to have an approximate street value of $12,000.
Oliveira was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in New Bedford District Court on charges of Trafficking Heroin exceeding 100 grams and Possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
