Dartmouth Police are warning residents of an apparent lottery scam.

Det. Kyle Costa says a number of reports and complaints have been filed of residents receiving letters from the "International Raffle Commission". The phony letters say the company has affiliations with Walmart, Mastercard, and Visa, and that the recipient has won a large amount of money from an electronic drawing.

Police warn folks not to respond to the letters, and report them to police if you happen to receive one.

Costa says, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it is!"
