Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn is officially sworn in to his position.

After Sam Sutter was elected Mayor of Fall River, then Governor Deval Patrick appointed Quinn as Acting DA, until Governor Charlie Baker made Quinn's position permanent last month.

Speaking at Wednesday's ceremony,Governor Baker says during the time Quinn was Acting DA, his office received an overwhelming amount of input recommending Quinn for the permanent position.

Quinn also acknowledged it took a lot of support from co-workers and community leaders to advocate on his behalf to Governor Baker, and even referenced a Beatles tune.

Quinn outlined several priorities for the District Attorney's office, including the reduction of substance abuse, improvements to the state's wiretap laws, and strong prosecution against those who illegally use and possess firearms.
