A Providence woman is arrested in the Dominican Republic in connection to a Dartmouth incident.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III, 35-year-old Katherine Mercedes Pimental was wanted on several warrants related to a stabbing a fellow dancer at the King's Inn in Dartmouth on July 27, 2007. The charges on the various warrants include mayhem, assault to maim, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, operation under the influence of liquor, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Pimental was arrested shortly after the stabbing and was eventually released on $5,000 cash bail.

Pimental appeared to her pretrial court hearings, though allegedly fled the country before her trail was set to begin on December 3, 2009, according to the DA's Office.

Pimental was located and arrested in the Dominican Republic, where she had fled to.

Pimental was transported back to Massachusetts by the U.S. Marshall's Service where Dartmouth Detectives took custody of her. She will be arraigned at Fall River Superior Court Tuesday.
