Providence Man Arraigned in Connection with New Bedford Man’s Death

Providence Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a New Bedford man two weeks ago.

According to multiple sources, 29-year-old William Robertson of Providence has been charged with manslaughter after he was taken into custody for his involvement in the death of 21-year-old Charles Bettencourt.

Bettencourt passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on May 10 after he was punched in the head outside of a Providence club.

Robertson was arraigned today in Providence District Court. He was held on $50,000 bail.
