The murder trial of a New Bedford man is expected to come to an end within the next day or so.

Gregg Miliote, spokesman for Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn's office, says the prosecution rested Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of 36-year-old Jeremy Amaral. Miliote says the defense is expected to present two witnesses Wednesday with the trial coming to a close Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

Amaral is accused of killing Tiffany Ann Durfee, a mother of three, in her North Street apartment in March of 2013. Prosecutors say Amaral killed Durfee, stole her 55-inch tv, and then sold it for drugs.
