A pressure cooker sitting in a Saugus trash can caused a small panic outside a Rite Aid store yesterday.

Saugus police responded to the store on Broadway just after 7am when someone spotted the pressure cooker in a trash barrel. With help from the state police bomb squad, the cooker was declared safe. In a statement, the Saugus Police called disposing of such an item in a public place "irresponsible."

Pressure cooker bombs were used in the Boston Marathon explosions on April 15th.
