ACUSHNET - A pig has perished in a fire in Acushnet.

The Acushnet Fire Department says firefighters were called to Cedar Hill Drive just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a shed fire. On arrival, crews found two sheds fully involved in flames, with two other structures in danger of catching fire.

The flames were brought under control with the help of a 3,000 gallon tanker from the Rochester Fire Department.

The two sheds were destroyed, with two others damaged.

A pot bellied pig died in the fire.

No injuries to fire personnel or property owners were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
