Unclear answers from the Baker administration on what will become of the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal.

The terminal, originally budgeted at $113 million, is $10 million over-budget, behind schedule, and will not play host to Cape Wind - the failed offshore wind project.

Lt. Governor Karyn Polito was in New Bedford Thursday, and suggests the terminal does have potential, "It is an asset that sits right here in a strategic area of this port, and we do need a plan that will make sure that we maximize its usefulness."

Mayor Jon Mitchell says the terminal will be used for short-sea shipping, and could possibly welcome offshore wind in the future.

Polito says the State will rely heavily on input from the City concerning the future of the terminal.
