New Bedford Police are investigating the robbery of a city man Wednesday night in the South End.

Det. Cap. Steven Vicente says the robbery happened around 7pm in the vicinity of Brock Avenue and Harmony Street.

The victim told Police he was approached by two women who asked him for some money. The man pulled out his wallet and gave them two dollars and walked away.

A short time later he was grabbed by an unknown man, who put him in a headlock, grabbed his wallet and ran off. The victim was not seriously hurt. The wallet contained cash and some personal identification.

The suspect is described as a hispanic male, about 5-10, wearing glasses and a black hooded sweatshirt.
