Police Investigate New Bedford Stabbing

New Bedford Police are investigating another stabbing incident in the city. Wednesday night around 11:30 north end units were dispatched to State & Weld streets about a fight in progress.

When they arrived, they found an unidentified 42 year old New Bedford man on the sidewalk with injuries to his face and about a dozen stab wounds to his back and buttocks.

It appeared he had been attacked by several individuals. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective William Westgate or William Sauve at 508-991-6300 ext 136.
