Police Investigate Market Basket Purse Snatching

New Bedford Police are investigating a purse snatching at Market Basket over the weekend.

New Bedford Police say just before 9pm Friday night, a Dartmouth couple was returning to their car after shopping at Market Basket, when a man came running up from behind, snatching a purse from the victim's arm. The husband chased the male through the parking lot, but could not keep up with the suspect.

Nobody was injured, but the pocketbook, containing personal items and cash, has not been recovered.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin male wearing a grey sweatshirt.
