Police Investigate Apparent Kidnapping In North End

New Bedford Police are investigating several leads into an apparent kidnapping Thursday morning in the North End.  Det. Capt. Steve Vicente tells WBSM News, two dark-skinned men approached a woman leaving the Welby Park Estates on Phillips Road around 11am, and led her back inside the building.  According to witnesses, the men were dressed like undercover Police Officers. Vicente says they then entered an apartment and handcuffed a man, identified as John Sylvia.  The two men then placed the man in a van like the one pictured above, and drove off.    Capt. Vicente says John Sylvia is known to police.....

Police continue to look for the van.  They're also questioning witnesses, including the woman.
