Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed In New Bedford Crash

New Bedford Police have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a Saturday afternoon crash.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says 42-year-old Jason Roberts of New Bedford was traveling on Phillips Rd. near Pine Hill Dr. around 2 p.m.

Vicente says a preliminary investigation shows that his 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle veered into the opposite lane and then struck a utility pole on the opposite side of the street.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being investigated by the Accident Reconstruction Team.
