Police are releasing the name of the man who killed three people at a Kansas factory where he worked.

Authorities say Cedric Ford shot and killed three people and wounded a dozen others at Excel Industries in Hesston, north of Wichita.

Five people are in critical condition. The 38-year-old Ford was killed in a shootout with police.

Investigators say Ford shot two people at two nearby locations before spraying gunfire at the Excel plant. The FBI and ATF have joined the investigation.
