New Bedford Police are looking for a man who portrayed himself as a Comcast employee, gained entrance to a home, and then stole a wallet from a bedroom.

Det. Capt. Steve Vicente says the incident happened Monday afternoon in the area of Caswell and Ohio Streets. Police say the man was wearing a red Comcast shirt, and told the occupant that he had to inspect the cable box.

The homeowner left the alleged-technician alone for a while and when he went to check on him, he saw the man running from the home and noticed his wallet was missing.

The man is described as in his 20's, clean shaven with short hair. He did not show a Comcast I-D, nor was he driving a company truck. Anyone with information should contact Det. Scott Brown at 508 991-6300, ext 131.
