Police Arrest Suspect, Recover $25,000 Worth Of Heroin

A New Bedford man faces drug charges following his arrest over the weekend.

Narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for 330B Smith Street in Westlawn, and after gaining entry, police found a safe in a bedroom containing 248 grams of heroin.  Police say the drugs have a street value of around $25,000

Arrested was the occupant of the apartment, 27 year old Asdruleibi Serrano Paredes.  He's charged with trafficking heroin and a school zone violation.  The apartment is located within 300 feet of New Bedford high School property.
