Police say two people have been fatally shot inside a car in Brockton.

Lt. Brian Benvie tells The Boston Globe that officers responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Glenwood and Highland streets at about 2:40 a.m. Friday.

No names were released but police say both men were in their 20s.

There was no word on arrests.

Police found eight shell casings in the area.

A photo in The Enterprise of Brockton shows the victims' Infiniti at an angle halfway up a snowbank on the side of the street.

The shootings were the city's first two homicides of 2015, after 14 last year.
